What I am thankful for
What I love most about Thanksgiving is that it is a time to reflect and be thankful for all of the blessings in life, especially our family and friends. James and I are excited to be hosting our fourth Thanksgiving this year. It is a tradition that we look forward to every year and are so excited to be able to share it with Sophia and Isabella for the first time!
Here are some of the many things that I am thankful for this year...
Of course my beautiful girls are the light of my life, I still can't believe how blessed we have been to have not one, but two of the most amazing little angels to continually bless our lives day after day with their laughter grunts and coos, beautiful smiles, and cutest pouts :)
My incredible husband James who put up with me when I was a pregnant hormonal basketcase nut-job, to when I was a sleep-deprived zombie with newborns who could barely function, to now a busy working mom and wife trying to keep the house clean and the kids happy. I love my new life with him and cherish all of our time together!
I am so thankful for my mom and dad. I don't think I could have survived hospital bedrest and the first few weeks at home with the girls without having my mom right there by my side the entire time. She gave me a shoulder to cry on during the last few weeks of pregnancy when I was so scared and uncomfortable, then took even more time off to be with me and help with all of the overwhelming changes that came with the girls when we brought them home from the hospital - seriously mom I don't think I could have done this without your help! And thanks so much dad for letting me have her for those few months...I don't think you got to see much of her at all :)
My friends who provide me with a much-needed break from it all and listen to me complain, cheer me up when I'm sad, and make me laugh at the stupidest things all the time.
Our entire family, who are the best aunties, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that our children could ever ask for - we are so thankful that we have each and every one of you.
Stephanie, Jolene and Mimi for helping us out so much by watching the girls while I am at work. It is because of your commitment and generosity that I am able to work part-time and spend so much time at home with the girls. Thank you so much, words can't express how much this means to me!
We are hoping that everyone has a happy (and yummy) Thanksgiving!!

Guess who weighs more?
Isabella is no longer going to be known as "the little one"! She weighs 15lb 14oz and is 25" tall...Sophia is 15lb 13oz and 25 3/4" tall. They are both very close to the 50% percentile for everything, except their heads are well above 90% (43.9 and 45cm!) I guess they are going to have big brains! The doctor said they are looking great and rocketing up the growth charts :) They also got 5 shots each so they are fast asleep from the shots, the excitement of the appointment and the tylenol. Way to go girls, you are getting so big!!

Random pictures
Mimi bought these outfits for them from a really cute local store called Chocolate Soup...Although the outifts are cute you have admit they look like little pink Matadors (if I were you Chili I would run far away when these outfits come out!)

The girls already looooove fashion
Mimi and I went to the mall yesterday to look for some 9 month outfits (can you believe that!!) and some christmas dresses for the girls. When we got home the girls were in a great mood so we tried all of their new clothes on them and you wouldn't believe how much they loved it. So cute to watch them playing with all of the new dresses and smiling in between changing outfits. I think James is going to have to hide his credit cards early - these girls are going to break the bank shopping for clothes someday!
veggies
Time to eat...first time trying veggies

I did some research to find out what is recommended as far as starting solids and it seems that most people recommend starting with rice cereal, then adding veggies, then fruits one month after starting veggies. So even though we are so excited for them to try something sweet we are going to hold off and start with the veggies...hopefully this will trick them into liking their vegetables later in life ;)
Anyway, I accidentally started with stage 2 veggies, not realizing that stage 1 veggies are important to start with so you don't have problems with allgergies or spices - woops! Sophia really enjoyed the stage 2 sweet potatoes and didn't seem to have any issues so I guess we are okay. Isabella did not enjoy the potatoes but she did okay with the squash we tried today.
I can't wait to post more pictures of them eating - it is quite a sight! We usually put them in their bumbo seats and feed them at the same time. So what ends up happening is they get cereal and veggies all over their faces, then they stick their hands in their mouth or in their sisters mouth and that's when the food really starts flying around. I never thought it would be this messy! Good thing it is also fun for us so we don't mind cleaning up the mess :) But we can basically plan on having to change their entire outfit (even the socks) after eating solids.

Monster Bash
Everyone had a great time at our halloween party last night. The costumes were all amazing so it was pretty hard to pick someone to vote for the best costume!

The Cat in the Hat (Jolene) won second place and the Oompa Loompa (Terri) won first place. They were both homemade costumes and very cute. James and I were vampires and the girls were asleep before the party started :)

We had lots of great food...burritos, rice, beans, chili rellanos and a kitty litter cake. Both of our moms helped us out so much with the food and the punch. Terri also brought sherbert punch and Mirinda helped out with an appetizer as well - thanks everybody for all of the help!!

Anthony made an ass of himself as a half-naked hospital patient and Mirinda was his nurse. Too funny!

My dad was Indiana Jones and my mom was Marion, his girlfriend.
