snow bunnies

It's no secret the Sandoval family loves snow! We even love snow when we are stuck in town and unable to ski through it :) We were happy to spend a Sunday playing in the snow with the girls! We made snow-angels, helped James shovel and went to the neighbors house to ride sleds. It was lots of fun...

A lazy winter day snuggling on the couch with my babies!

James and I took all 4 kiddos to the Breckenridge snow sculpture contest. Surprisingly we didn't get a chance to "appreciate" any actual snow sculptures since we were chasing after 4 little ones the whole time, it was fun though!

Snow Cat Skiing, What?!?

I really don't know how they talked me into this, but yesterday I was able to experience bowl skiing for the first time, in terrain accessible only by snow cat! Mimi, Papa, James and I all went up together to North Bowl at Keystone. It was an amazing experience, just being alone on the top of the bowl with what seems like a mile of open space to ski on!

I conquered one other run this weekend too, it was my first time to ski Go Devil, a very steep, very intimidating black run for me! James and I got some evidence of this amazing feat at the bottom :)

Happy Ew Ear!

That's how the girls say happy new year! We had a blast ringing in the new year with our friends Kassie, Brian, Carrie and all of the kids. We drank great wine, had yummy food and played a fun game called mexican train until just past midnight, literally we missed the ball drop by less than 1 minute!

Kidtopia

Keystone builds a GIANT snow castle every year at the top of dercum mountain, so we decided to bring the kids up for a picnic, keystone-style! They played on the slide for a long time, it was a fast one too!

The crew taking a lunch-break, nothing beats a picnic in the snow!

The cousins had a blast during bathtime!

Christmas Day

...The calm before the storm
Sophie cracked us up when she walked down the stairs and saw everything she said "I don't want it!!!" and walked away, leaving us baffled and Bella thinking she won the jackpot! Needless to say she came around when she saw their was a tata-head to play with :)

Santa brought the girls their first computers, fisher price ixl's! He even loaded their favorite songs, Baby Baby by Justin Beiber and Baby I Like It by Enrique Iglasias. The girls got very attached to their "puters" right away, they didn't even want to put them down to go potty, what a funny sight!
Sophie really really likes wearing this flashlight around her neck, very funny!

After we finished opening presents at home we went over to Mimi and Papa's house for a very yummy brunch and some family bonding!
Every year we look for the hidden pickle on the christmas tree, this year Jolene won, but we didn't go down without a fight!
Sophie looks like a little supermodel, posing for a picture!
Pretty Bella
Auntie Jolene and Uncle Bradley got the girls a baby bassinet and they loved it! We had to take a long break from opening presents so they could put their babies to sleep. They always start off so sweet singing the nighty-night song to their babies and giving them a kiss, then they yell "you're in BIG TROUBLE baby, lay down and close your eyes RIGHT NOW! Oh, how they love to embarrass their mommy already :)
Happy campers
James and I were so excited to get an IPad, sweeeet!

Of course Bella loves her penguin shirt, and her penguin pillow :) That girl is crazy about penguins! Sophia loves her ladybug pillow too! She has always been partial to little ladybugs
That's a nice look for you Papa!

Thank you so much everybody for all the wonderful gifts! The girls won't be bored at home for a loooooooooong time with their new kitchen, baby bassinet and arts and crafts toys, and they will be stylish as well in their new outfits, all of which are so cute!! Mommy and Daddy won't be bored either, as we might be fighting over that Ipad for awhile :)

Hope everybody had a very Merry Christmas!

A Spot of Tea

The ladies enjoyed our second annual tea at the Brown Palace this year. We really missed having great-gramma along with us but we had so much fun with Carrie! I've been looking forward to having tea since last Christmas, it is so much fun :)

HoHoHo Merry Kissmas!

This was the first year the girls got really excited about christmas. They had so much fun helping set out the decorations and hang ornaments on the trees! They absolutely love looking at christmas lights and it's very cute how they hug our snowman and penguins in the front yard anytime they leave the house! They have been cracking us up wearing santa hats and saying "hohoho merry kissmas!" and singing jingle bells :)

I ski really fast....okay!

Well, that is what Bella will say if you ask her if she went skiing! For the record books, the girls put on their first pair of skis at 2 1/2 years old, and only because they kept asking and asking us about it :) I wanted to wait until next year!

The girls could not have been happier to open their new skis and try them out! I took the girls to Colorado Ski and Golf and they had the whole store watching them while they got their pictures taken for their ski passes and picked out their new skis and helmets, they were giddy with excitement :) For the next week they put on their skis daily and practiced french fry and pizza in the living room....
Sophie getting ready to put on her skis at the bottom of mountain house.
Little Bella is so anxious to learn, she patiently kept getting back up and trying again!
Sophie was all smiles!
And finally, someone who actually does ski really fast! James checking out the amazing view at Keystone!
