Viva Mexico

James and I decided to take a kids-free vacation to Cozumel in June for our anniversary!  The girls stayed with Mimi and Papa or Katie while we were gone, and though I think they had a great time they pestered us enough about leaving them behind we booked another Mexico vacation in November... this time with the girls :)

The view from our room was incredible!
Ahhh, upon arrival I was trying to imagine 10 days of relaxation ahead of us
We stayed at Cozumel Palace, it was amazing!

We spent our fair share of time in various beach bars
And we met a croc named Lucy at the mangroves

We had a great trip, but the return flight was a little scary when the pilot announced 20 minutes before landing that we had lost some of the nose landing gear during take-off, what!!??
We were so happy to land safe and sound on the ground!

Tea with Mrs Nesbitt

What's a girl to do when she gets Buzz Lightyear for her birthday??
Have a tea party of course!

Just wanted to throw in this picture it makes me smile :)
The girls helped Mimi make my favorite raspberry cake for my birthday, they were so proud!

Happy Birthday!

Happy 3rd Birthday Sophie and Bella!!
The girls were so excited to get big girl bikes for their birthday!

The girls looked so cute for their party!
They wanted to wear their beautiful princess dresses with snowboots :)

 The Toy Story cake
...and the back of the cake made me laugh.
Bella got into it the night before and ate some frosting, and Buzz fell off the top a few times too many so he ended up sitting on a peep!

On their actual birthday I took the day off and we went to the Butterfly Pavilion
They loved it!
Bella was a little scared of the butterflies!
But when they got the chance they tried to hold the butterflies :)

And we visited this starfish at least a dozen times that afternoon!

Princess Beds!

The girls finally got their big girl beds and they absolutely loved the change! I was sad to pack up their baby cribs but it was great to see them so excited to have big beds...

Will you be my valentine?

The girls got to decorate valentines cupcakes!
And they had a blast putting together their valentines cards for their friends at school. The colored each one then folded it and put a sticker on it. How cute!

snow bunnies

It's no secret the Sandoval family loves snow! We even love snow when we are stuck in town and unable to ski through it :) We were happy to spend a Sunday playing in the snow with the girls! We made snow-angels, helped James shovel and went to the neighbors house to ride sleds. It was lots of fun...

A lazy winter day snuggling on the couch with my babies!

James and I took all 4 kiddos to the Breckenridge snow sculpture contest. Surprisingly we didn't get a chance to "appreciate" any actual snow sculptures since we were chasing after 4 little ones the whole time, it was fun though!

Little snow bunnies ready for school

Snow Cat Skiing, What?!?

I really don't know how they talked me into this, but yesterday I was able to experience bowl skiing for the first time, in terrain accessible only by snow cat! Mimi, Papa, James and I all went up together to North Bowl at Keystone. It was an amazing experience, just being alone on the top of the bowl with what seems like a mile of open space to ski on!

I conquered one other run this weekend too, it was my first time to ski Go Devil, a very steep, very intimidating black run for me! James and I got some evidence of this amazing feat at the bottom :)

Happy Ew Ear!

That's how the girls say happy new year! We had a blast ringing in the new year with our friends Kassie, Brian, Carrie and all of the kids. We drank great wine, had yummy food and played a fun game called mexican train until just past midnight, literally we missed the ball drop by less than 1 minute!
