Fishing with Walter

Not many people can say they have seen the North Shore of Molokai and it's absolutely amazing sea cliffs. They are the largest in the world with some over 3000 feet! Last year when we flew out of Molokai the pilot took us around them and it was beautiful. So of course we jumped on the opportunity to spend the day fishing with Walter on the North Shore. Mimi, Papa, Bradley and I were the chosen ones to go out on the boat while Jolene and James stayed back with the kiddos.

This was the best picture we could get from a moving boat of a huge waterfall.

Bradley caught the first fish of the day, Aku Tuna - aka Skipjack Tuna

Lots of dolphins were playing with the boat, we were surrounded by them and they were jumping in and out of the water, lots of fun!

This rock is called the Stairway to Heaven
Walter told me and mom to jump on the front of the boat and put our feet in the water while he was telling us the story about this cave and the giant eel that protects it....then all of a sudden he gunned the engine and we went inside! It was so cool!

The water was an irredescent blue from the light shining in, so pretty
There is a lady that has lived in this house for at least 30 years, accesible only by helicopter. It was around this time that Walter told us the fishing trips can last a few days if the water gets to rough to go home. In Molokai they believe that Mother Nature schedules everything and you can't be rushed to go anywhere, even if it takes days!

Aloha Hawaii!

The happy travelers all packed up and ready to leave Hawaii. Yes this is all our luggage! We were laughing that we had to cram it all onto the Wikiwiki shuttle to get to the main airport in Honolulu, it was quite a spectacle :) 2 strollers, 4 carseats, 6 checked bags, 12 carry-ons (coolers, camera bags, diaper bags, kids back-packs etc., a pack-n-play, 4 kids and 6 adults, and we all packed pretty light!

Birthday Playhouse

For their birthday we got the girls the cutest little playhouse... Of course we started putting it together during naptime but once they woke up and saw James working on it there was no way to hold them back! It was pretty funny watching them try to check it all out when it wasn't even finished yet ;)

That night we had some visitors to see the girls on their Birthday!

Of course every morning now they can't wait to get outside and play in their new house

Sophie going to give me a smooch!
I just had to include this picture because Sophie looks like such a big girl!

Sophie and Bella's TWO-rific Birthday Party!

We can't believe our little girls turned 2 years old... where did the time go!? Since the little ladies are crazy about bugs I decided to go all out and do bug cakes for their party. Mimi and I spent the day before the party baking and decorating them and they turned out so cute!

Little Isabella is crazy about her Papa!
They had stick-on ladybug earings for their party
The ladybugs ended up all over their arms too :)

Just another picture of the cakes...

Joseph was being so cute tying balloons on the stuffed puppy trying to get it to fly!

Opening presents the girls kept getting distracted but when we got the outfits out later to take tags off they wanted to try them ALL on and Sophie kept saying "Oh how cute!"

Thank you so much everybody for sharing this big day with us and for all of the wonderful thoughtful presents! The girls have the cutest summer wardrobe ever and lots of cool new toys to play with! I just wish we would have taken a picture with all of the kids... I will have to plan ahead for that next time since they were on the go playing the whole time we never got them all together for a picture :(
