Date Night!

For Christmas this year James got tickets for us to see the Jersey Boys, it was so much fun! I have never had 3rd row seats before and it was so cool!

Ballerinas, Bankers and Mountain Climbers!

The Dog Days of Summer are here! It has been been blazing hot around town so we have been looking for inside or cool mountain air activities to stay out of the heat.

One of my favorite places to take the girls is the Childrens Museum in Lafayette, so cute and they stay busy there for hours!  This time we went with their friend Reece, it was lots of fun.

They love pretending to work at the bank, Bella always likes to be the teller inside sending the money out to the drive up car and throgh the tube and Sophie plays the customer.

The dress-up and dance floor area is always a big hit with the girls!

We took the girls to Tiny Town again last weekend and they still enjoyed it! They got to ride the Tiny Town Railroad and play in lots of the little houses.

After Tiny Town we decided to be Colorado tourists and check out the drive up to the top of Mt. Evans, a 14er in Colorado you can actually drive to! Just our style :)

The girls liked the drive up since we saw Mountain Goats and we were way high up in the sky!  We loved it because it was beautiful and you could see forever! So glad we went.

Junior rock climbers thanks to Katie!

Swim Lessons

The girls have spent almost every day this summer in swim lessons, it has been lots of fun for them and they are really getting good now.  Our goal is to have them swimming by the time we take them to Mexico in November and they are well on their way :)  Here are some videos and pics!

Montana Road Trip

We were so happy to take another road trip to Butte Montana to see everybody!
It was fun this time to see how grown up the kids are getting, and all of the shananagans they pulled at great-gramma's house are the ones we used to do as kids!

We took the kids to the new splash pad at Clarks park, it was cute.  Funny how much the girls love to swim but they still are not big fans of splash pads! It freaks them out, maybe they are just extra cautious like their mommy :)

I noticed this sign as I watched James and Bradley act like they are still teenagers!

So much fun to play on the cowboy swings!

I love this picture of Gramma and me

We spent an evening at Janets house to celebrate Grammy's Birthday...

...Although the celebration got a little crazy once the fireworks came out!  I think everyone for miles around the Axelson house got to celebrate Grammy's birthday with us!

We were thinking the gun powder must go to their heads after a while. All of the boys started acting a little crazy as the night went on, as evidenced by Papa's face when he got ready to light "Got Pyro?"

Great-Grampa

Awww, how sweet! The girls did not make it easy on him this time, they were being shy for most of the trip!

Of course all of the kids loved to play with Uncle Eddie!

We had a great afternoon with everybody!

I can remember when this was Stacie and Wendy and me and Bradley eating breakfast with Grampa

We decided to be tourists this time and take the bus ride up to the Lady of the Rockies, or "Rocky" according to Sophie and Bella, or "Lady Who Glows in the Dark" according to the Joseph and Andrew :)

It was beautiful up there, we really enjoyed hearing her story

Later on we took the trolley tour of Butte and learned the history of the copper kings. It was very interesting, and fun to be with everybody in the trolley

I can't believe the girls did it again! Just under 11 hours coming back home with only 2 quick bathroom breaks! They are road trip champs!
